American Idol News!

I am a big fan of American Idol, so this season watch our blog for weekly thoughts and news!

“Pants on the Ground”

Only two episodes of American Idol’s ninth season have aired, and there is already a new song sweeping the nation. General Larry Platt, a 62 year old veteran, shared his original song, along with some dancing and calisthenics, with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and guest judge Mary J. Blige in Atlanta. The song, entitled “Pants on the Ground,” not only shares a message (buy a belt, kids!), but it has a catchy beat too. After General Larry’s energetic performance, Simon said, “I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit.” Mary J. Blige laughed until she cried, and Randy and Kara joined in with Larry on the chorus. In fact, by the end of the day the entire waiting room was getting down to “Pants on the Ground.”

Women Buying Cars

Women are buying new cars in record numbers. They are learning the steps in order to find great deals and Women friendly dealershipsby using the Internet. The Internet can be your best friend when purchasing a new car. There is no reason a women can not get a great deal when buying a new car; ladies, negotiate, negotiate, and negotiate!
Do some research first before going to any dealership. Decide what car you really want. Figure out how much you can afford. Know the actual invoice price before heading to the dealership. Locate the dealership that has the vehicle in stock. Call with any questions you may want before going to the dealership. It is also a good idea to set an appointment with a salesperson so that they are ready to show you what you want when you get there. Make sure you really pay attention to everything about the car when test-driving like the comfort of it and/or maybe the blind spots of it, road noise if any, things like that. Inspect the vehicle for any problems and get it in writing for the dealership to take care of it.
Drive it! You may have done all of your research but driving the vehicle is just as important. You may sit in the vehicle and decide it is not for you, not comfortable or you don’t like the way it feels.

Women are born shoppers and are thrifty ones as well. Take your time and don’t rush into anything.
Remember, the women of LiveLoveAndDrive, are just that….Women. We understand what you are going through in the car buying process and what most needs are. Game Night

I love nothing more than my family and spending time with them. So what we try to do once a month is family game night. We’ll get together and play good old fashioned board games. My mother, sister and I have always loved playing games since we were young kids. My sister and I have kids of our own, now ages ranging 17-21 and they to enjoy playing games whit us which is surprising that they make time for us. Ha-ha. So we’ll get together and have dinner or just snacks and then let the games begin. My sister, niece and nephew are pretty competitive when we play. My husband “says” he doesn’t like playing games but when we get started he get’s into it and has a good time. Then my two sons act like they don’t really know what’s going on but they are actually smarter than they appear and surprise everyone with good answers. Lately we have been playing Buzzword.

It is a challenging game. You split into to two teams and when it’s your turn you read to your team a word, let’s say the word is Ball. Then you read the ten questions and each answer will have the word Ball in it. Example….
Q.) Inflatable sand toy………………..A.)Beach ball!
Q.) On top of spaghetti………………….A.) Meatball!
Q.) A psychic stares into one………A.) Crystal ball!
Each answer you get correct you get a point and the first team to 50 wins.
Of course we all still like to play our Nintendo Wii and X-Box and Nintendo DS but its fun to sit around in a group to play board games.

We are always looking for new and exciting board games, so if anyone has played any recently and could recommend one that would be awesome!

Do you need GAP Insurance?

Guaranteed Auto Protection Insurance, otherwise known as GAP insurance is designed to protect you and your vehicle if it is ever damaged beyond repair in an accident and declared a total loss or stolen and never recovered.  Typically your primary auto insurance won’t likely cover the entire amount you owe on a lease or loan.  In fact, it usually only covers the actual cash or market value of the vehicle.

If this happens, you may have to pay from your own pocket the difference between the vehicle’s actual cash value and the amount you owe on your loan or lease.  GAP insurance will help you pay off the loan or lease balance on your new or pre-owned vehicle.

So, if you take out a loan or lease, you may want to consider GAP.  If you purchase a vehicle with cash, GAP Insurance is not needed.

I have personally had to use GAP Insurance!  About 3 years ago I financed a Chevy Tahoe. I owned it for a couple of years until I let my teenage son drive it. It had been a week of dry weather and then the rain came -you know how slick the streets are after the first rain.  He was taking his friend home and turned the corner going onto the main road, he must have maybe punched it too hard because he lost control of it and ran head on into an oncoming moving truck. the accident totaled my Tahoe and the other truck as well. Fortunately everyone was okay but my SUV was wreaked.  (Gotta love camera phones, that is me on the left freaking out.)

My auto insurance company did their thing and paid off the majority of my loan. However, there was a balance that they were unwilling to cover.  Thank goodness I had GAP insurance, which took care of the rest of my loan. Since no one likes to pay on a vehicle they don’t own anymore, I would highly recommend GAP to everyone who is financing their vehicle!

If you have any questions on GAP insurance or financing let me know!
