At Home Vehicle Makeover!

We have a little more sunshine left before the rain, so why not enjoy it? Get out in the beautiful sun and wash your vehicle at home! If the little ones are home, this is great fun with them too!

The best time of day to do this is the morning, when the sun is nicely shining but not too hot or do it in the evening. This will help avoid those not so pretty water spots.

First step, Gather all of the things you will need;

A sponge, rag, etc. whichever you prefer to use

A bucket

Car Wash soap

Water Hose

Towels

First you want to rinse off the vehicle with your water hose rinsing off all loose dirt and grime from the vehicle, this also lowers the paints temperature.

Next step, take your sponge/rag and soak it in the water prepared in the bucket with the car wash soap.

Start cleaning the vehicle off from top to bottom (or the cleanest to the dirtiest), removing all the dirt and debris. Remember you do not have to do this too rough as you want to be cautious of your vehicles paint.

If you notice this is taking some time and the soap is starting to dry, it would be best to clean one side at a time. Rinse off the area you have washed and move on the other side of the vehicle.

Once all the grime has been washed, rinse the vehicle fully. A little tip I learned, is if you take the nozzle off the hose after rinsing and do one final rinse with the hose water free flowing, this will help push a lot of the water off your vehicle.

Last step, grab some towels and dry the vehicle off, again working from the top to the bottom.

Stand back and enjoy your shiny, beautiful vehicle. I don’t know about you, but I know when I do a great cleaning job with my vehicle, it makes me feel like I just bought it again! It is also an easy clean up after washing the car, so you have more time to enjoy it!
