FVRL launches “Get Job Help @ Your Library” services

A co-worker of us ladies at Dick Hannah Honda found this great information……..

Job seekers have new resources available to them at Fort Vancouver Regional Library District locations, thanks to a grant-funded Get Job Help @ Your Library program that began in February.

Helpful tools include a live-chat job coaching and résumé review service; résumé-writing software; an online service to help users explore career options; extra time on computers; classes on creating and polishing résumés and cover letters; and, until April 1, free use of netbook computers (small laptops) in select libraries.
FVRL received $48,420 as one of 17 Washington public libraries awarded a Renew Washington grant by the Washington State Library in late 2009. The purpose of the grant program is to address the needs of people needing access to employment-related information, resources and services. The Renew Washington grant program is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
A full summary of the Get Job Help @ Your Library resources is available at www.fvrl.org/findinfo/GetJobHelp.cfm.

Work Out Smarter Not Harder With Reebok Easy Tone

With summer right around the corner and great weather now here, it’s time to put those shorts and skirts back on! Okay, so like most women I want to be proud of the legs I’m showing off and like most women I don’t have the hours of commitment it would take at the gym to get those perfectly toned legs. So I go back to my old mantra, and tell myself don’t work out harder just do it smarter, and this is were the new Reebok Easy Tone’s come into play.
The Easy Tone is the newest women’s shoe from Reebok and they are designed to firm your lower body while you walk, we all walk right? So why not slip these one before you hit up the supermarket or local mall, they might even encourage you to park at the far end of the lot or take that extra lap around the mall.
When I first got mine I thought I would be in for some major aches and pains, however I must say these are the most comfortable shoes I have in my closet, no kidding! It’s like walking on clouds even though I was working my glutes a full 28% harder along with 11% more on the calf and hamstrings. The key to this shoes success is its balance pods.

Reebok’s site explains that “DMX technology” and “balance pods” are the key. “Air travels between the forefoot and heel pod, creating super soft cushioning. The moving air creates a natural instability and forces your muscles to adapt to the air volume within the pods.”
When I first bought mine I could and would not take them off. I even wore them to work even though we are business casual. The Easy Tone’s look so nice I don’t think any one would have noticed; however one of the girls here at Dick Hannah Honda pointed them out the first day I wore them. After I told her all about them and how much I loved them, she went out and bought a pair herself and loves them just as much as I do.

P.S. DON’T RUN in them, unless you like having a sprained ankle!

Save Cash at The Pump!

Dick Hannah Honda wants to save you time and money, just 3 Clicks of your gas cap at the pump can do it!!

This is true for all models from 1996 to current models. If the cap is loose it is unable to pull a vacuum to capture the fuel vapors, thus sending a message to the vehicles computer popping on that “Check Engine Light” that we all hate to see. This is part of the emissions system keeping our cars green :) Most people see this light and take it immediately into the shop, which I would do, for 2 reasons, the thought of not knowing what’s wrong with your vehicle and two the light is extremely annoying. This can be a costly trip to have the diagnostic test ran to see what message it is sending and why.

We want to actually burn the costly gas these days not let it escape into the air right?? So make sure you click 3 times to insure a tight seal, keep our earth green and keep the green stuff in your pocket!

Delicious Vancouver Cafe

My husband and I found this café by his work. We’ve eaten there twice and loved it each time. If you want some great Hawaiian Food at a reasonable price you must try this place. It’s located on 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. A101 Vancouver, WA. 98661. The staff is very friendly and the café is decorated with Hawaiian stuff which I think is very cool. Here is some more information about it…..

Hawaiian Time Cafe specializes in true Hawaiian style plate lunches found in the islands. From island favorites like Chicken Katsu, Loco Moco, Spam Musubi, to our signature “Mauna Loa Chicken”, we have something for everyone. We also serve the best Saimin you will find outside of the islands, including the signature “Kawika’s House Saimin” featuring Portuguese Sausage, Eggs, and Rice.

All of our plate lunches come with rice and local style macaroni salad. Here are our featured items on the menu:

Kekoa’s Special - Teriyaki Beef, Honolulu Plate - Korean Beef, Huli Huli Chicken, Kalua Pig, Chop Steak

Mauna Loa Chicken, Garden Mix, Loco Moco, Portuguese Sausage, Eggs, and Rice

Chicken Katsu, Chinese Chicken Salad

And much more!

History
Established in 1997
Hawaiian Time Cafe was founded in Eugene, OR located in the Gold’s Gym on 3rd and Lawrence. After a successful start, HTC expanded to neighboring Springfield, OR off of Centennial Blvd. In 2003, Kekoa (the Founder) sold the restaurants to long-time customers who currently operate locations in Oregon.

In October 2009, after managing retail stores and graduating from the University of Oregon, Kawika (Kekoa’s son), decided to open a HTC of his own. Check out our website at HawaiianTimeCafe.com to see pictures of Kawika and Kekoa building the first Vancouver, WA location.

On January 6th, 2010, Hawaiian Time opened its doors in Vancouver, WA and has been serving tasty Hawaiian dishes ever since. So, if you are an old customer of the original Hawaiian Time in Eugene and missed us, “We’re Back!”

Meet the Business Owner: Kawika H.

Kawika is the owner and operator of Hawaiian Time Cafe in Vancouver, WA. He is the son of Kekoa, who founded HTC in Eugene, OR back in 1997.

I am so impressed with this place that I and going to tell my FaceBook friends and co-workers at Dick Hannah Honda about it.
